In the new horror series from Netflix, The Midnight Club (created by the author of Haunting of Hill House, Mike Flanagan), storytelling is everything. It is the means by which Club members remember and create escapist worlds to live in. They scare themselves, knowing how difficult it is to scare someone facing death. The eight members are residents of Brightcliffe, a hospice for terminally ill teenagers.
At the heart of the Midnight Club’s spooky stories are rich characters, which real-life actors play in their fictional universes alongside their roles as club members. The main cast – Iman Benson, Igby Rigney, Ruth Codd, Annarah Cymone, William Chris Sumpter, Adia, Aya Furukawa and Sauriyan Sapkota – are rising stars who deftly slip in and out of their real roles and their imaginary counterparts: regular high school students. average, athletes, murder victims, detectives, children seeking revenge. As they go through the end of their lives in Brightcliffe, stories become inextricable from the ghosts that haunt them, and the mysteries that follow can keep you up at night.
Below, discover the list of The Midnight Club and find out more about the characters they play.
The Midnight Club follows Ilonka Pawluk, a smart schoolgirl bound for Stanford, but everything changes when she receives a diagnosis. She catalyzes the story, finding Brightcliffe online and choosing to spend her final years there rather than with her foster father (Matt Biedel). It’s the closest she’ll ever get to a college dorm, and she soon begins to lead a mission to uncover the house’s history.

Kevin is the first person Ilonka meets in Brightcliffe, a character who loves music and his younger brother, who isn’t necessarily coping well with Kevin’s diagnosis.
“Kevin is really trying his best to be the caretaker of the group.”, Igby Rigney told Teen Vogue. “He wants everyone to be happy.”

“I play Anya, who is a brash rebel with little to no regard for the rules.,” Ruth, 26, told Teen Vogue. Over the course of the series, she struggles with the person she was and what is left for her to become. “I think the thing she would most like to do would probably be to do it again, so she could appreciate what she had when she had it. ‘Cause I think she only realized it after she lost everything.”

Goodbye like Cheri
Like Cheri, actress Adia often brings comic relief (sometimes unintentionally) and a playful spirit to the Midnight Club.
