Snake Kai smashes Rings of Power with Netflix record

But now, a very popular Netflix series has taken the reigns from Lord of the Rings: it’s about Snake Kai.

Snake Kai had an explosive debut at the ranking Nielsen’s weekly ratings system, the largest system that measures series viewership in the United States. The production racked up 1.7 billion minutes viewed between its debut on Netflix on September 9 and the end of the viewing window released this week, on September 11.

It is a significant achievement not only because of the wide leap in Snake Kai which reached the one billion mark. But because it reached that number in what turned out to be a historic week in terms of viewership on streaming.

Nielsen’s September 5-11 preview window marked the first time that four streaming different videos exceeded 1 billion minutes viewed. So it was definitely a week that many viewers consumed the series.

In second place was the debut in the streaming of Thor: Love and Thunder, which was watched for 1.5 billion minutes when it arrived on Disney+ on September 8, two months after its theatrical debut. Already The Devil in Ohiogives Netflix ranked third with 1.4 billion minutes watched after debuting at No. 5 last week.
